Gillian Wearing is a Portrait photographer that interestingly uses text within her images. I really like this effect as the image is speaking out, and the portraits are very powerful! I would like to experiment with this in my digital work, by asking different aged models to say something about themselves/what they worry about/what are their aspirations/how they want to be remembered. I have concentrated on 'Generations' in my overall personal study, so a contrast in this will be nice.
Throughout my traditional personal study, I have been experimenting with the likes of John Stezakers experimental portraiture, as it is not conventional, the way he splices images. I have decided for digital I am going to continue splitting images, to see the effect as there will be more interesting colours to work with, also this should be made easier on photoshop. I am also going to focus on looking at portraiture without the need of cutting them up, as some in traditional were a good shot, without this. Photographers I am going to look at are:
